In September, during National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Stripes embarked on a seven city advocacy tour throughout Texas to launch its in-store fundraising campaign, “Stripes Celebrates Tomorrows,” and hosted “Strike Through Cancer” events. Seven stores in the Stripes major market areas were selected: Houston, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, San Angelo, Laredo, the Rio Grande Valley, and Corpus Christi; all the communities were invited to “Strike Through” the word CANCER.
