Stripes® Convenience Stores Present $1,000 Donation Check to Moody High School Stripes Business Academy

Stripes® Stores presented Moody High School with a donation check for $1000  to benefit students’ scholarships for those enrolled in the Moody High School Stripes Business Academy. Twenty-two graduating seniors completed the program and participated in a Cord ceremony held in Corpus Christi, Texas. The students received a completion certificate, dual college-credit hours and a Stripes Business Academy participation cord for their upcoming graduation. Stripes Stores Public Relations Director, Jessica Davila-Burnett, served as the guest speaker at the Cord Ceremony. She encouraged the students to never forget where they came from,  always give back to others in need and assert emotional intelligence. Stripes is the underwriter of the event and business program.

About the Stripes Business Academy at MHS:
The Moody High School Stripes Business Program was established in 2008. The purpose of this program is to provide students with an education as well as the experiences needed for entering the business world. The program also allows for students to begin earning college credits toward a business degree while in high school. Stripes students will experience a variety of opportunities including, but not limited to:

  • Dual Credit Business Courses
  • Stripes Summer Internship Opportunities
  • Business/Industry Field Study Trips
  • Mock Interviews
  • Networking with Business/Industry Representatives
  • AVID College Readiness Course
