(Corpus Christi, TX) Monday, November 10, 2014 - Stripes® Convenience Stores have announced the grand opening of its newest and largest Stripes® Convenience Store on Southside of Corpus Christi, Texas. Stripes Stores will host a grand opening fiesta and ribbon cutting ceremony beginning at noon on Friday, November 14, 2014, at 2022 Rodd Field Rd. The new Stripes location will offer Sunoco® Fuel, the Official Fuel of NASCAR®.
The grand opening celebration will showcase the many convenient and delicious foods available from Laredo Taco Company® located in the new Stripes Store. In addition to games and food sampling, NASCAR® Show Car # 88 will be on-site from 11am-5pm, and former Dallas Cowboys NFL pro-football player Kevin Smith, 3x Super Bowl Champion, will hold an autograph session from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mayor Nelda Martinez, along with the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony as the new Stripes Store has added over 30 new jobs to the community. Stripes will also present a $1,000 donation check to Mary Grett School Transition Center.
The first 200 customers at the grand opening celebration will receive a FREE Stripes refillable mug after the ribbon cutting and will have the opportunity to win prizes from Stripes Stores and supplier partners.
The new Stripes Store features Laredo Taco Company, a dining area which seats 40, “the wall” - a creative space where customers can customize their cool with over 2.1 billion possible flavor fountain combinations, “the beer super cooler” – a designated cooler for beer/adult beverages set to cool below 32 Degrees Fahrenheit, 16 Sunoco Branded Fuel dispenser options which include unleaded, unleaded, super unleaded and diesel, as well as 7,000 square feet of fast, fun and friendly customer conveniences.
