The Celebration of Summer Continues with FREE Small
Slurpee® Drinks at Participating Stripes® Stores

(IRVING, TEXAS) Monday, July 9, 2018 – The Celebration of Summer continues as participating Stripes* stores will give away FREE small Slurpee® drinks from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, Wednesday, July 11 (7/11), while supplies last. No purchase necessary. Last month, Stripes introduced Slurpee drinks to its customers to kick off their “Summer of More” campaign in-stores and on the road by announcing its Slurpee drink truck tour across Texas.
The addition of Slurpee drinks was the first in a series of big initiatives focused on bringing more value, choice and variety to Stripes customers, as a result of the recent acquisition by 7-Eleven, Inc. This Wednesday, 7-Eleven will celebrate its 91st birthday on 7-Eleven Day (July 11, 2018). 7-Eleven founded the convenience store concept in 1927, when an ice dock employee in Dallas began selling milk, bread and eggs to customers as a convenience when traditional grocery stores were closed.
“We are thrilled to offer our customers free Slurpee drinks this coming Wednesday, 7/11/2018, as we celebrate the summer of more at Stripes,” said Greg Kirian, director of marketing for Stripes. “We want to continue to engage with our guests in our stores, at local events in our communities and across our social media platforms to provide them with a summer of more experience”.
Stripes customers have already visited the Slurpee drink truck at various locations throughout Texas, and should stay on the lookout for the truck, which is on the road, making stops at select stores and other popular local locations.
“Our Slurpee drink truck will be in Houston and the surrounding area this week. We are encouraging our customers to check the Stripes Facebook page and website for more information on the free Slurpee drink events across Texas and for more chances to win cool stuff throughout the summer,” stated Kirian.
